Bus from Santa Margherita Ligure to Portofino:

Duration: About 15-20 minutes. /  Frequency: Buses are frequent, especially during peak tourist seasons. /  Cost: A small fare, buy the ticket in advace via App or at the kiosk. / Tip: Sit on the left side of the bus for the best coastal views.

By Car from Moneglia to Portofino:

We do not recommend to go by car, because the parking in Portofino is limited

From Moneglia, take the SP1 road towards Sestri Levante. Attention there is a tunnel with limitation all 20min (05, 25, 45 from Moneglia to Riva Trigoso). Merge onto the A12/E80 motorway towards Genoa and exit at Rapallo. From Rapallo, follow signs for Santa Margherita Ligure and then continue to Portofino. Duration: Approximately 45min, depending on traffic.

High Season Considerations Portofino:

During the high season, it’s not guaranteed that the police will let you enter Portofino for just a visit, as parking often sells out. It’s wise to check parking availability in Santa Margherita Ligure and taking a bus, Ferry boat or walking to Portofino.
